Homemade Chocolate Bounty Bars Recipe

Homemade Chocolate Bounty Bars Recipe

Here is another easy treat you can make this Halloween. These homemade chocolate bounty bars are delicious, just like the store-bought ones. You only need three simple ingredients for this recipe. If you want the candies to be sweeter, try using milk chocolate instead of the semisweet dark chocolate chips.

Ingredients

3 cups unsweetened shredded coconut

1 cup condensed milk

15 ounce semisweet  chocolate chips

How to Make Homemade Chocolate Bounty Bars

Combine shredded coconut and condensed milk in a bowl and mix to create a sticky paste.

You can use rectangular bars of silicone mold if you have one, but if not, you can use your hands to form rectangles. Wet your hands to handle the paste easily.

Place the coconut bars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate them for 20 minutes or more until chilled.

Meanwhile, melt the chocolate either using a double boiler method or pop them in the microwave. If you use the latter method, make sure to use a microwavable bowl and melt about one and a half cups of the chocolate chips. Using 50% power, microwave them for 30 seconds, and then stir and repeat the process until chocolate has fully melted. Add remaining chocolate chips and stir until they melted completely. Chocolate should be glossy and smooth.

Take out the coconut bars from the fridge and dip each candy into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Using a fork, lift the bars and allow the excess chocolate to drip before putting back on the baking sheet.

Allow the chocolate to set or place them back in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
