Cake pop info:
You will need one container of frosting for every cake mix you use (that can make a 9×13″ cake).
Start with about half the frosting and blend. If the crumbs aren’t sticking together well enough, add more frosting a couple of tbsp at a time until you get something that has the texture of playdough and that isn’t too sticky.

I melt my candy melts at 50% power in the microwave, stirring often (you can use the “defrost” setting if you’d like). Starting off with a minute or two and then 30 second intervals.

If your candy melt are too thick, thin them with some melted vegetable shortening. Old candy melts are often thicker when melted.

If your cake pops crack after dipping, they may have been too cold.
You can dip the cracked ones into some melted candy melts (double dip) and this should solve the problem. You can also leave a tiny area around the stick at the base of the cake pop clear of candy melts, this will allow any pressure in the pop to escape there.
