DIY Vanilla Cake Mix - Edible Gifts

DIY Vanilla Cake Mix – Edible Gifts

This easy DIY Vanilla Cake Mix comes in handy when you are in a hurry to bake a cake, and you don’t want to go to the grocery store. You can store this vanilla cake mix for a couple of months. You can also decorate it with ribbon or write a label on black chalkboard label stickers if you want to give it away as an edible gift. Don’t forget to print and attach the baking instruction.

Though vanilla bean is optional because it is pricey, it will really make a difference on this cake mix, but you can also try to look for quality vanilla extract. The result will be a fluffy cake which you can eat as it is or whip some frosting and add some fruits to make it special.

How to Make DIY Vanilla Cake Mix

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. If you are using a vanilla bean, split it in half, scrape the seeds, and add to the flour mixture. Put the vanilla pod in the glass jar or any tight container you are using, followed by the flour mixture.

When you are ready to bake, whisk together eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla extract. Add another tablespoon of vanilla extract if you did not use a vanilla bean. Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch pan, or divide into two 9inch round pan—Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes.
