How To Make Your Own Almond Paste - Marzipan

A really great recipe for you to follow to make your own almond paste / marzipan that is great for your cakes or to make cake decorations with it or for some wonderful bakes this holiday season

There is nothing quite like making your own almond paste / marzipan than buying it

Here below is a list of the ingredients you will need to make the almond paste / marzipan

Ingredients 

  • 8 ounces almonds, blanched and very finely ground (grind them twice) you could get ground almonds if you prefer

  • 8 ounces icing sugar

  • 1 egg white

Instructions to make this paste 

  1. Take the almonds and grind them or to save time use ground almonds

  2. Once ground the second time add your sugar to them

  3.  Now slowly add the egg whites working this mixture vigorously.

  4. If using a mixer use the dough hook or you can knead on a pastry board with your hands

  5. Your almond paste should be firm & smooth when ready ,chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before using
