1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 egg
For the frosting:
2 egg whites at room temperature
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup maple syrup
