This Strawberry Pie is a perfect dessert for summertime. The preparation and baking are so easy, and the ingredients are very simple, but that is what I like about this dessert, though. This pie has a buttery crust packed with delicious fresh strawberries.
Adding strawberry Jell-O intensifies the flavor of the pie and brings the strawberries together in one tasty bite.
Ingredients for Strawberry Pie
For the Crust
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup flour
For the Filling
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons cornstarch
6 ounces package strawberry jello
3 pounds strawberries, de-stemmed
How to Make Strawberry Pie
Grease a deep pie plate with butter or cooking spray.
For the crust: combine butter, sugar, and flour and mix well. Press down into the prepared dish and bake for 375°F for about 10-15 minutes or until light brown.
For the filling: Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil while continuously stirring until the mixture is thick and clear. Remove from heat and stir in the Jell-O.
Cool for a few minutes before mixing the strawberries. Pour mixture into the pie crust.
Refrigerate until pie has set. Serve with whipped cream.
