This spiced bread pudding is a great one to make if you have stale bread in your store cupboard as it taste so yummy and of course it is better to make something delicious than throwing away your old bread .. great to share with your family or friends over a cuppa
I really love this recipe as it does remind me of growing up when my Nan would often make this recipe from one of her old cookbooks as it is an old recipe that has been made for years in many bakeries and at home in many kitchens too .. happy baking
Here below is a list of the ingredients you will need from the bbcgoodfood website , the brand of bread you use will not matter as long as it is wholemeal as you get a better result
Ingredients
500g white or wholemeal bread
500g/1lb 2oz mixed dried fruit
85g mixed peel
1 ½ tbsp mixed spice
600ml milk
2 large eggs, beaten
140g light muscovado sugar
zest 1 lemon (optional)
100g butter, melted
2 tbsp demerara sugar
