Coconut Pecan Frosting.. A German Frosting Recipe

A really wonderful frosting recipe that you can make to put on your chocolate cake to make it a perfect German cake , you can also put this frosting in the middle of a sandwich type of cake too , or even but it on top of chocolate cupcakes

A really wonderful frosting to make for those cakes , why not have a go at making it yourself by follow the recipe below

Ingredients

  • 1(12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 1cups sugar
  • 3cup butter
  • 4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 1teaspoons vanilla
  • 7 ounces flaked coconut, about 2 2/3 cups
  • 1 1cups chopped pecans

 

Instructions on how to make this frosting 

  1. In a large saucepan mix together Mix  the milk, sugar, butter, egg yolks and vanilla and then cook it on a medium heat on the oven top for about 12 minutes or until thickened and is a golden brown colour
  2. Take the saucepan of the heat and then stir in the coconut and pecans.
  3.  cool this mixture now at room temperature it should now be a spreadable consistency , it is now ready to use on your cakes
