A most wonderful cake to make is this black forest cake with all it yummy layers , it is easy to make although it does look like a cake that would be complicated to make, I really love this recipe it is one of those you can make time and time again with great results

For the Cake Batter:
2-1/4 cups of All Purpose Flour
3/4 of a cup of Cocoa Powder
1 tsp of Salt
1 tsp of Baking Powder
2 tsp of Baking Soda
2 cups of Granulated Sugar
1 cup of water
1 Cup of Unsalted Butter, softened at room temperature
1 Tbsp of Instant Coffee Granules
3 Eggs
1/3 cup of Milk
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
For the Syrup:
1/3 cup of Sugar
1/4 cup of Water
1/4 cup of of the Juice from the Jarred or Canned Sour Cherries
2 Tbsp of Cherry BrandyFor the topping (and other):
2 14oz Cans of Jars of Sour Spirited Cherries
Shavings of Chocolate
About 2-3/4 cups of Heavy Cream
1/2 cup of Confectioners Sugar
