I really love this recipe when I came across it so I wanted to find out what matzo are and here is what they are

Matzo is an unleavened cracker-like bread that is traditionally eaten at Passover. It is made with flour and water, and it is the flour-containing product that is deemed to be Kosher for passover.

You can buy them but of course here is a link ….http://www.amazon.com/b?node=16322831  or this link too  https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=matzo&tag=googhydr-21&index=grocery&hvadid=28711527368&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8005615977076506589&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_2cq6j010lg_b ….you can also make them so here is a link to a recipe for that too… http://leitesculinaria.com/84910/recipes-homemade-matzoh.html

This chocolate matzo recipe makes a quick and easy dessert for Passover or anytime. A sprinkle of sea salt gives this chocolate covered matzo recipe a gourmet flavor the whole family will enjoy.

For this recipe, you will need:

3-4 boards of matzoh
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 cups chocolate chips (semisweet, dark or milk are all fine)
sea salt, to taste
1/2 cup chopped almonds

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Start by lining a baking sheet with foil. Top it with a sheet of parchment paper or waxed paper. This will help keep the chocolate matzo from sticking.

Now place as many pieces of matzoh on the sheet as you can fit. It’s fine to break them into pieces to make them fit easier.

Next, add the butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar. Stir and bring the mixture come to a boil. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes, then remove the caramel sauce from the heat and pour over the matzoh.

Smooth it over with a spatula, you want to get every piece covered.

Now place it in the oven, and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the caramel is golden brown, like this.

As soon as the matzo comes out of the oven, sprinkle on the chocolate chips, and return the matzo to the oven to bake for another 2 minutes.

Remove the matzo from the oven, and immediately use the back of a flat spatula to spread the softened chocolate chips into a smooth layer of melted chocolate.

Sprinkle on a little sea salt, and top with some chopped nuts (that’s optional, of course).

Now let the chocolate matzoh cool completely, and break into pieces to serve.

And here’s your chocolate covered matzo.
