1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup (8 oz,or 2 sticks) salted butter
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup roasted almonds, finely chopped (or pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts; pretty much any roasted nut will be tasty on toffee)
