For the cookies:

- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

For the filling:
- 3 ounces strawberries, rinsed, hulled and coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
