Ingredients for Nutella Tea Cookies

1 cup of granulated sugar

1 cup of butter

1 teaspoon liquid vanilla extract

1 egg yolk

2 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon of salt
½ cup of grated hazelnuts
½ cup of Nutella

How to Make Nutella Tea Cookies

Before setting out to prepare the dough for the Nutella cookies, firstly, you need to prepare your oven for baking by lining a few baking pans with parchment or foil paper and setting aside. Also, set your oven to 360 degrees so as to preheat.

Afterward, put the required 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 cup of butter, 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla extract and 1 egg yolk in a large bowl. Mix these ingredients together using an available whisk until the mixture is thick and creamy.

Proceed by adding the 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda as well as ¼ teaspoon of salt to the sugar and butter mixture. Using your hand, fold in the dried ingredients until you have a thick dough. Now, using a cookie scoop, take a scoop of the dough into your neat palm, roll the dough to form a cookie ball and place them on your prepared lined baking pan. Scoop and roll the dough until it’s all exhausted and ensure to place the balls a couple of inches apart. You’ll have about 30 or 32 cookies.

Next, slightly flatten the cookies by gently pressing with the flat bottom of a neat jar dipped in sugar (to avoid sticking to the cookies). After that, group the total flattened cookies into two sets (15, 15). Sprinkle ⅛ teaspoon of hazelnuts on top of each cookie in a set while you leave the other fifteen cookies untouched.

Set the baking pan filled with cookies in the oven and allow all cookies to bake for about 10 minutes after which they’ll have lightly golden edges to indicate that they are ready. Once ready, remove the cookies from the oven and allow to cool completely.

After cooling, flip over the 15 cookies without hazelnuts. Put the half cup Nutella into a piping bag and top each of the flipped cookies with about ¼ teaspoon of Nutella. Then, put the cookies with hazelnuts over the buttered cookies.

Serve and enjoy your Nutella cookies with a cup of tea!
