Recipe: ❤
1 sheet thawed puff pastry
1 apple, diced
1 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp water
1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for the egg wash)
Icing sugar for dusting
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 400F, line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Use a round circle cookie cutter to cut out 9 circles of puff pastry (make sure for every circle has its own pair, e.g 9 circle will make 3 donuts, 6 circles would make 2 etc).
3. Place the circle puff pastries onto a lined baking sheet.
4. Make the apple filling by stewing the cubed apples, cinnamon, brown sugar and water over a stove on med-high heat. Let the apples soften and the mixture caramelise.
5. Place a tbsp of the filling onto the centre of half of the circles, then add 1/4 tsp sugar and brush the edges with egg wash. Place the other circle ontop and use fork to crimp the edges together.
6. Bake for 15-18 mins until golden brown.
