Redemption Hazelnut Pie

This über-sweet pie is essentially a traditional pecan pie made with hazelnuts. This recipe comes from Patty Pinner’s cookbook Sweety Pies.. a really amazing looking pie that I was so please to come across as able to share with you all so that you can make it too

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark-color corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups toasted hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (1/2 stick)
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell (see recipe below)

 

Pastry for a Single-Crust Pie

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut up, or shortening
  • 1/4 – 1/3 cup cold water
